Special Instructions, Location Notes, and Other Note Fields
Dispatchers have many tools to communicate essential information to Drivers via Orders Forms. This article breaks down each one.
Contents
Special Instructions
When creating a new order, under 'Additional Details' there is a section where you can enter Special Instructions for the Driver.
Once saved, you have the option to Hide from Driver, or revert back to Display for Driver.
Special Instructions will also show in Dispatch view as shown below.
On the Driver App, you will be able to view the following under the Order Summary;
- Container Location
- Placement Notes
- Location Notes
- Special Instructions
It's important to note, that Special Instructions will not follow through to the next order for things like Exchanges.
This is also true for order photos, they can be added on the order form but will NOT carry over to the next order in a chain.
Location Notes
You can also utilize Location Notes for essential information unique to a specific Location.
Unlike Special Instructions, these will carry over onto following orders for this Location.
The same goes for Location photos, they can be uploaded on the order form and will carry over to following orders for this Location.
You can also view each of these note fields on the Location level under the Container tab.
On the Location level, you are able to set Default Notes notes that carry over to every order for that Location.
You can find more information about Locations here.
Other Note Fields
There are a few additional places to provide information on the order form to be aware of;
- Placement Notes - these can be configured on the Location page.
- Container Location - notes specific that the order for the order.
