Driver App Serialized Inventory Enhancements

We have enhanced the Driver App experience for Serialized Inventory users. We have given your drivers the ability to:

  1. See the available inventory count at each of your yards and trucks
  2. Reserve assets ahead of time

Why did we build this?

  • Before, the system lacked the ability for drivers to see where available inventory is. This creates extra work for dispatchers - they must check inventory levels and create manual tasks for their drivers to tell them where to pull assets from.
  • Giving the driver a view of where the available inventory is located helps them know which yard to go to based on availability of assets and route efficiency.
  • Additionally, if inventory availability for a particular size is low, drivers benefit from having the ability to “reserve” an asset while they are on their way to the yard - this prevents other drivers from selecting the same asset and reduces time wasted driving to a yard that may no longer have the asset once they arrive.

Viewing Inventory Count

In the Driver App, your drivers will now be able to view the inventory count for any order on their schedule. Clicking on the "View Asset Availability" button will display your Yards and the number of assets available at each Yard, based on the product size of the order. Selecting a Yard will provide more details about the exact asset IDs that are there.

Reserving Assets

After selecting an available asset, your drivers will be able to reserve it by clicking "Reserve". Reserving an asset will also start the order and you will see the reserved asset on the order.

Your drivers will also be able to change the asset on an order that already has an asset selection.

Inventory Management

In the Inventory Management module within CurbWaste, you will be able to see the assets your drivers have reserved under the "Unavailable" tab.

Reserving assets is exclusively done in the Driver App. Desktop users are not be able to reserve assets for drivers.
